Physician’s Assistant Educational Requirements

Becoming a physician’s assistant will require certification and practicing will be under the supervision of a licensed physician. A physician assistant will have to take courses that will pediatrics, family medicine and internal medicine, psychiatry, obstetrics and gynecology, and surgical technique.

A physician’s assistant will have employment opportunities at hospitals, private doctor’s office, and nursing homes. A degree in nursing or paramedics is usually required to begin certification to become a physician’s assistant. A physician’s assistant can perform a variety of different medical techniques and diagnoses and in some states  they can even write prescriptions.
